NoBos Best Birdwings in Pitching Duel
|
Campo picked up a win at Valhalla Summit, bumping off the Hazleton Birdwings, 2-1. Pitcher David Ruano was a major reason the NoBos emerged victorious. Campo is now 2-8.
Devin Mial had a big run-scoring double for the NoBos in the bottom of the second inning. With Campo leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Alejandro Rubio and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the NoBos ahead, 2-0.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Ruano told the Campo Chronicle. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
