Knights Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Kingwood and Chippewa met at The Reservation in front of a lively crowd.
Kingwood Knights starter Adrian Bejar had all his pitches working at The Reservation. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Kingwood win over the Chippewa River Chiefs. Bejar went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-0.
It could have been a different outcome for Kingwood, had it not been for Antonio Valdez, the 20-year old third baseman . Valdez contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put Kingwood up, 6-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Valdez told the Kingwood Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Losses have been few and far between for the River Chiefs so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.
