The Atlantic City Rollers spoiled a good performance by Pacifica shortstop Andrew Read, bumping off Pacifica, 10-6, at McCormick Field. Read went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was Atlantic City reliever Sal Coronado, now 1-0. The loser was Ignazio Menichelli. Vic Rockburn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.

Bill Bagnall delivered a big hit for Atlantic City. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rollers ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Atlantic City manager .

Even with the win, the Rollers have a dismal 36-71 record.
