A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Montreal Mounties and Hawaii Honu.

The Montreal Mounties overcame a good performance by Hawaii shortstop Rafael Santiago to knock off Hawaii, 10-7, at Aloha Stadium. Santiago went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win went to Nimulodi Bausi in relief, making him now 1-0. Tyler Moss took the loss for Hawaii.

Montreal used the hitting of Myles Leyte to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mounties on top, 10-7. For the game, Leyte had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Leyte said. "That's how it goes."

The Mounties, at 23-15, sit in first place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
