Crocodiles Prevail, 7-5, Over Boise
|
The Boise Hawks and Louisiana Crocodiles cranked it up at Basque Block Field.
Julio Yanez knocked in 3 runs to help Louisiana beat Boise, 7-5. Yanez produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Ryan Desmond got the win, improving to 5-8. He held the Hawks to no earned runs on 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Andrew Benton recorded the save for Louisiana, his 21st of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Louisiana, had it not been for Robert Burns, the 27-year old catcher . Burns contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Louisiana up, 2-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Burns said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Louisiana is third in the RCLAA Lou Piniella League with a record of 51-41.
