The Montreal Mounties got a strong performance from pitcher Garrett Frankel, who stymied the Kansas City offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Mount Royal Grounds. The Mounties raised their record to 3-2.

Jared Jones had a big 2-run home run for the Mounties in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Montreal leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Manzanares and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Mounties on top, 4-1.

"Bottom line," said Kansas City skipper Lewis Cannon, "we didn't play well enough to win."
