The Walnut Creek Warriors beat the Vancouver Pioneers, 8-0, at Castlerock Field. Dan Edwards, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Their 28-12 record puts the Warriors first in the Thurman Munson League West Division.

With Walnut Creek leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Edwards hit a changeup from Mark Tanner for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 4-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Lemn Onkwani.
