Dallas shortstop Jose Leyba was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Buffalo beat the Texans, 10-8. Getting the save was Bobby Milleville, his 8th. Buffalo, at 19-14, occupies second place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Danny Pellot came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Greg Woolery, he hit a 1-1 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 9-8.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Pellot.
