Seagulls Thwart Peacocks, 3-2
|
Clearwater Seagulls starter Dave Rios turned in a sparkling performance against the Murraysville Peacocks, leading his team to a 3-2 win. In 8 innings, Rios surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Scott Perciavalle, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2063 draft, earned the save for Clearwater.
Zach Johnson, who is tied for 4th in the TAA in bases on balls with 36, took Murraysville hurler Justin Weathersby deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Seagulls on top, 3-2. In all, Johnson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The vibe's good," said Clearwater manager Ayub Ndadaye. "We've got to keep it going."
The third-place Seagulls now have a win-loss record of 33-24.
