Snaps Solve Beehive, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Snaps turned back the Madison Beehive, 3-2, at The Studio. Dave Wallis was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Danny Dove, the winner, improved to 5-2. He held the Beehive to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Cincinnati's record now stands at 21-21, placing them third in the TMLAA Jim Leyland Division.
Had David Lehman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lehman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Snaps.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Wallis said.
