Hackers Get Gritty, 4-3 Win
|
Boston got a decent performance from pitcher Nate Murray, but it wasn't enough to beat the Silicon Valley Hackers. Silicon Valley won the The Studio contest, 4-3. Murray threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Mike Rose earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-2. The save was Hector Lopez's, his 7th.
Silicon Valley used the timely hitting of Dave Birch to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hackers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We refused to lose," said winning manager .
The Whitecaps drop to 10-11 and continue their mediocre start to the 2066 season.
