Slide Continues for Argonauts
Peoria and Astoria duked it out and the Caterpillars came out victorious.

The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Astoria Argonauts, 8-7, at Golden Fleece Park. Peoria third baseman Ryan Wairimu, who is tied for 9th in the TAAA in triples with 6, collected 2 singles and 2 doubles with 3 RBI. Jordan Curry, credited with the save, is now 34 for 41 in save opportunities.

Rich Alarcon delivered a big hit for Peoria. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Caterpillars ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We got the victory," said Alarcon. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The losses continue to mount for Astoria, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
