Nucci Goes Wild, But Argonauts Win
|
Though he had a terrific game, Tullio Nucci could not prevent his team, the Billings Mustangs, from absorbing a loss. Astoria won the game, 7-5. Nucci went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Astoria has won 7 consecutive games.
Ignacio Montejano had a big 2-run home run for the Argonauts in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Astoria leading 5-3 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Willie Sotelo and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Argonauts ahead, 7-3.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Montejano.
