Texans Win with Late Heroics
The Dallas Texans weathered an outstanding game by Traverse City center fielder Ghaysun Azizi to topple the Beach Bums, 5-3. Azizi went 4-7 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Dallas reliever Gerardo Grande picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Thor Odinson was tagged with the loss. The win brings the Texans to 9-19, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

The decisive blow was delivered by Miguel Damaso in the bottom of the 16th when he hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Chad Reid to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.

"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Damaso. "Maybe this win will help."
