The Astoria Argonauts pinned a convincing loss on the Minneapolis Freeze, 9-3, at The Ice Box. Travis Arant was a main factor in the win. He went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Astoria. Astoria pitcher Ernie Jones earned the win, hiking his record to 3-3. Francisco Rodriguez suffered the loss. The Argonauts go to 63-69, putting them third in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League.

Jason Franzoni had a big grand slam home run for the Argonauts in the top of the seventh inning. With Astoria leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Stuart Reece and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Argonauts on top, 8-1.

"I try to not think too much," said Arant.
