In a low-scoring contest between the Reno Raiders and the Astoria Argonauts, Don Townend was the X factor. The Reno left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The Raiders improved to 61-59.

The Raiders got a big at-bat from catcher Chad Esparza. For the game, Esparza went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Reno a 2-0 lead.
