Raiders Score Late, Clip Mustangs, 3-2
|
In a tight contest between the Reno Raiders and the Billings Mustangs, John Tait was the determining factor. The Reno right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Reno reliever Scott Bertram was the winner. His record is now 6-3. The losing pitcher was Jeremy Balla. Picking up his 5th save was 28-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Sturm.
Reno took a 3-2 lead on Josh Davey's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Davey hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Billings pitcher Jeremy Balla visibly frustrated.
Reno manager Rod Cirilo commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The win makes Reno 55-53.
