The Calgary Hitmen welcomed the Fort Worth Cats to an afternoon game at Mckinley Park.

Calgary beat Fort Worth on the strength of starting pitcher Jeff Spotton's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Jim Westberry earned the save for Calgary, his 15th of the year.

Devon Aylesworth came through for Calgary when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a two-strike curveball to right field, staking his team to a 4-3 lead.

"Jeff was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Calgary manager Brandon Ashley.

Calgary is now 52-39. Fort Worth is 43-48.
