The Thunder Bay Black Bears topped the Reno Raiders, 4-3, in RCL AAA action at House of Pain. The standout performance belonged to Thunder Bay pitcher and Utuado, Puerto Rico, native Bruce Moreno. Bobby Boeckner picked up the win in relief for Thunder Bay, while Don Townend took the loss. The Black Bears now have a record of 42-43 with the win over Reno.

Thunder Bay used the hitting of Rafael Rodriguez to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 4-3. For the game, Rodriguez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Rodriguez told reporters after the game.
