The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Billings Mustangs, 11-6, at Cobb Field. The win was due in part to designated hitter Ben Petrich, who was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Peoria reliever Chris Schurman got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Ken Pratt was tagged with the loss. Billings has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Peoria used the timely hitting of Jonathan Dawson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caterpillars on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Dawson told the Peoria Herald.
