Outlaws Defeat Cacti, 13-7
|
With center fielder Willie Adorno leading the charge, the Baton Rouge Outlaws defeated the Albuquerque Cacti, 13-7, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Adorno, who is tied for 8th in the RAAA in stolen bases with 21, was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Luis Miniel earned the win to go to 5-0. He allowed 5 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. The 4th-place Outlaws are now 43-53, the Cacti 49-46.
The Outlaws got a big at-bat from designated hitter Renie Burgess, who in the top of the second hit a 2-run single. It was his 107th hit of the season and put the Outlaws on top, 5-2.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Adorno.
