The Manhattan Slice kicked off the 2063 season with a decisive 10-1 win over the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners at Copps Park. Manhattan shortstop David Owusu was already in midseason form. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Eric Jefcoat recorded the save, his 1st.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Owusu hit a 2-run home run off David Baxley. It propelled the Slice into the lead, 2-0.

"We took it on the chin tonight," said losing manager Paco Berroa.
