Lowrie Shuts Out El Paso, 8-0
The El Paso Mavericks were almost helpless in their 8-0 loss to the Eureka Hornets and hurler Harley Lowrie. Lowrie kept the Mavericks confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Lowrie," El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 26-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Lowrie said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
