Stars Field was the site of a tense game between the Indian Wells Aeropostales and Peoria Caterpillars.
The Indian Wells Aeropostales went down to defeat to Jack Mainjer and his Peoria teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Caterpillars. In 8.1 innings, Mainjer surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Sae-wan Yi converted his 3rd save in 4 tries.
Cody McNamara had a big run-scoring triple for the Caterpillars in the top of the first inning. With Peoria leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Mike True and stroked the triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Caterpillars ahead, 2-0.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Indian Wells manager Zale Kountouroudas, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
The Caterpillars own a robust 48-28 mark.
