In a low-scoring contest between the Billings Mustangs and the State College Swallowtails, Jason Martin, who is tied for 10th in the TAAA in quality starts with 6, proved to be the difference. The Billings right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Mustangs win. Ernie Nielsen was called on to finish, recording his 12th save. The victory puts Billings at 28-42.
Aaron Ahern had a direct impact on the outcome. Ahern contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Billings up, 1-0.
"This was a tough loss," said State College manager Afalku Coffie. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
