The Wind grabbed a win, 7-6, at The Wind Tunnel, overcoming a fine effort from Fairfield pitcher Gary McPherson. McPherson went 5 innings and allowed no runs. The win went to Vince Erbeck in relief, making him now 4-0. Tom Gaston took the loss for Fairfield. The 4th-place Wind have won 4 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Crofts in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Gaston to win the game for Waimea. The home crowd went nuts.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Crofts, "but we could've played better."
