Outlaws Procure 8-3 Victory
|
The Baton Rouge Outlaws dumped the Acadia Park Nationals, 8-3, in large part due to designated hitter Will Walters. On the day, Walters was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Outlaws. The win was credited to Jon Spradling in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brent Martin took the loss. The win boosted Baton Rouge to 34-21.
Rafael Arevalo had a big 3-run home run for the Outlaws in the top of the first inning. With Baton Rouge leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a splitter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Brent Martin and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Outlaws on top, 5-0.
"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Walters.
