Dallas got a terrific game from shortstop Chris Sawyer. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Houghton, 7-6. Sawyer was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Houghton reliever Brian Douglas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jake Williams was saddled with the loss. Chris Wethington finished the game for Houghton and earned his 5th save.

Houghton right fielder Miguel Trujillo helped the Gremlins go up, 7-6, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Trujillo hit a run-scoring single off Dallas pitcher Jake Williams.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Dallas manager Lester Burrow.

The Texans, now 5-14, continue their poor start.
