Privateers Drop Hitmen, 4-2, with Late Score
|
Memphis Privateers starter Nelson Amador was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Calgary Hitmen, 4-2. Memphis reliever Nelson Amador picked up the win. Ricky Sanchez, who is tied for 6th in the RAAA in innings pitched with 70.2, took the loss for Calgary. Shawn Carl recorded the save, his 5th.
Jorge Duran delivered a big hit for Memphis. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Privateers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Nelson was in control from the top," said Memphis manager Ross Allan.
With the win, Memphis goes to 29-21, while the Hitmen fall to 31-19.
