Outlaws Get Clonked by Swallowtails, 4-3
|
State College beat Baton Rouge on the strength of starting pitcher Marty Taborda's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. With the victory, the Swallowtails record stands at 17-31.
The Swallowtails got a big at-bat from second baseman Bob Kuiper. For the game, Kuiper went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave State College a 4-3 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Baton Rouge manager Rick Childress said, following the tough loss.
