Velez Goes Off, But Raiders Win
Tallahassee second baseman Luis Velez pounded Reno Raiders pitchers at House of Pain, but it was not enough to keep the Captains from falling, 13-6. Velez belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jonathan Hogle, the winner, is now 2-3. He struck out 7 and walked 2 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Reno currently is in 6th place in the TML AAA Joe Torre Division at 13-22.

In the bottom of the second, 24-year old third baseman George Tufts hit a 2-run home run. The 2nd home run of the season for the Reno third baseman put the Raiders on top, 4-2.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Tufts.
