Bumblebees Take Down Freeze, 9-7
Despite a great performance by Minneapolis right fielder Sam Nyholm, the Pasadena Bumblebees defeated the Freeze by the score of 9-7 in 11 innings at The Ice Box. Nyholm was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Arthur Alderdice, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Freeze, at 17-17, have lost 5 straight games.

Andy Martinez delivered a big hit for Pasadena. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bumblebees ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Ben Jeffcoat. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
