Billings Survives Shell Heroics, Beats Muskies, 9-8
The Billings Mustangs outlasted Chris Shell and the Madison Muskies, 9-8. Shell was impressive in the loss. The Madison left fielder went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Ken Pratt was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Pete Newby. The Mustangs now have a record of 20-18 with the win over Madison.

The Mustangs got a big hit from pinch hitter Tullio Nucci. In the bottom of the sixth, Nucci smacked a 3-run home run off Madison pitcher Pete Newby. It was his 1st home run of the season. Suddenly, the Mustangs were ahead, 8-6.

"We've got some hairy guys on our side, too," said Billings manager Robbie Doyle.
