Black Bears Come Back Late to Clip Ambition
The Black Bears faced a stiff challenge from Indianapolis pitcher Leo Kirk, but persevered to claim a win at Edgbaston. The final score was 2-1. Kirk went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Thunder Bay pitcher Nathan Al-Assel earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Leo Kirk suffered the loss. Indianapolis drops to 8-5.

The decisive blow was delivered by Felipe Navarro in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 36-year old left-handed pitcher Leo Kirk to win the game for Thunder Bay. The home crowd went nuts.

"Tough loss," said Indianapolis manager Zi-jun Gou. "But we'll rebound from it."
