Adam Fuller could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Waimea Wind lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Forest Acres Falcons at McClure Field. Forest Acres has a mark of 3-3 after the win.
Trailing 2-1, Forest Acres hopes soared in the bottom of the seventh inning when the 24-year old second baseman Howard Yankovich lifted a 2-2 fastball into the stands for a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put the Falcons up, 3-2.
Afterward, Falcons manager Vic Eassson was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
