On Road, Mustangs Top Fireballs, 4-3
|
The Billings Mustangs scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. Billings pitcher Jeremy Hillman held his own in the contest. Hillman, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Ernie Nielsen closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Pat Bean, the first overall pick in the 2061 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bean contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Billings up, 4-1.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Joplin manager Daniel Petro said, following the tough loss.
With the win, Billings improves its record to 1-3.
