Blazers Send Cabo San Lucas Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The exploits of right fielder Lateef Zitouna, who led the TML in doubles with 71 in 2060, helped the Bloomington Blazers defeat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 4-2. Zitouna went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Erik McKnight earned his 30th save in 33 tries. The Blazers saw their win-loss record go to 61-65. At the same time, the Toreros fell to 62-64.
With Bloomington trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Zitouna hit a curveball from Justin Dietrich for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Blazers ahead, 3-1.
After the game, Bloomington manager Leo Dethwright applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
