Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Ramrods
|
The Huntington Station Ramrods handed the Asheville Moonshiners a 6-3 defeat in 19 innings at Station Center Yard. First Baseman Chris Kern starred for Huntington Station. He went 4-8 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Huntington Station reliever Esteban Quintino picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Jim Ketring absorbed the loss. Huntington Station bumps their record to 54-70 with the win.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 19th. With two out, Kern hit a fastball from Jim Ketring for a 3-run home run. The Ramrods, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame remarks, Kern said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
