Moonshiners Win, 5-1, Versus Honu
|
Amezwaru Kimaiyo was instrumental in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Hawaii Honu. The right fielder went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 for the Asheville Moonshiners. Victor Lara was the winner. He's now 7-4. The loser was fan favorite Yun-fat Liang. Asheville now has a record of 64-56 with the win.
Early in the game, Kimaiyo had a run-scoring triple for Asheville. It was his 5th triple of the season and put the Moonshiners on top, 1-0.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Kimaiyo. "I just want to win ballgames."
