Warriors Stay Hot, Beat Butterflies, 7-5

The first-place Walnut Creek Warriors picked up another win.
Though he had a terrific game, Dave de la Torre could not prevent his team, the Pennsylvania Butterflies, from absorbing a loss. Walnut Creek won the game, 7-5. de la Torre was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The first-place Warriors have won 5 in a row.
Walnut Creek shortstop Mario Rodriguez helped the Warriors go up, 6-5, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Rodriguez hit a run-scoring single off Pennsylvania pitcher Sam Haydon.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina.
