On Road, El Paso Beats Dallas, 8-5

El Paso and Dallas duked it out and the Mavericks came out victorious.
The El Paso Mavericks picked up a win at Metroplex Park, downing the Dallas Texans, 8-5. On the mound for El Paso was right-hander Edwin Serna, who played a pivotal role in the win. Picking up the save was Tony Leija, his 6th.
Marty Hannibal had a big 2-run home run for the Mavericks in the top of the third inning. With El Paso trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jim Miller, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 22nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mavericks ahead, 2-1.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Serna.
The Mavericks now own a record of 55-64.
