Marauders designated hitter Luis Garza left his imprint on his team's 7-5 win over the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Garza went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times for Maple in the contest. Maple reliever Eric Strief was the winner. His record is now 2-1. B.J. Bichler took the loss. Brandon Anderson earned the save, his 21st, for the Marauders.

Earl Bitner had a big solo home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Maple leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from B.J. Bichler, who led the TML in strikeouts with 179 in 2061, and punished it. The result was his 25th home run of the season, which put the Marauders on top, 3-1.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Garza, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

At 49-68, the Marauders are currently last in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
