Earthquakes Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes earned a close win over the Montreal Mounties, thanks in part to Rosario Lulli. The San Francisco right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Ethan Pollard picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Karl Barnett, who is tied for 8th in the TML in innings pitched with 143.1, was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Montreal 62-54.
The decisive blow was delivered by David Stradtner in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off fan favorite Nathan Al-Assel to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.
"Rosario just settled in and did what he does," said San Francisco manager Joe Taylor.
