With designated hitter Dusty Salstrom leading the charge, the San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Havana Stogies, 9-7, at The Humidor. Salstrom was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. San Francisco reliever Ryan White picked up the win, upping his record to 14-2. Mike Hutto was saddled with the loss. Josh Christie earned his 9th save in 10 chances.

Alex Sanchez went 1-4 for San Francisco. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring single off Mike Hutto. It was his 5th hit of the season.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bill DesMarais said.

The triumph puts San Francisco at 60-52 for the season.
