The Houston Sting got a stellar effort from pitcher Danny Umanzor, helping Houston score a win over the visiting Victoria Vikings, 4-1. Carey Leblanc closed out the game, earning his 13th save. The Sting go to 66-93, putting them 6th in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division.

Nestor de la Cruz went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI for Houston. The 20-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Jose Huerta. It was his 106th hit of the season.

Afterward, Victoria manager Jim Edwards said: "We were guessing wrong on pitches, and that's something we've got to get away from."
