Mustang Slap 6-3 Loss on Boise
|
Boise center fielder Reese Connel had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-3, to Carson City at Basque Block Field. Connel was 3-4 with 2 home runs. Tyler Frasier, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 9-9. Joe Gleason notched his 18th save of the season.
Carson City used the timely hitting of Jeff Roth to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mustang on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments, Roth told the Carson City News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
After today's action, Carson City sits at 63-96, while Boise falls to 45-114.
