The San Francisco Earthquakes beat the Maple Marauders, 8-7, at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco shortstop Geoff Raines had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win went to Jimmy LaPointe in relief, making him now 1-1. Andy Baer took the loss for Maple. Ethan Howell closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Earthquakes grabbed the lead when Raines hit his 5th home run of the season. The solo home run off Andy Baer made it 8-7, San Francisco.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Raines.

The Marauders, now 4-7, continue their sluggish start.
