The Hawaii Honu defeated the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 5-4, in 10 innings. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Sandy Rosales, who went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times for the Honu. Karl Molnar, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The win gives Hawaii a record of 3-9.

The Honu got a clutch hit from shortstop Les Hutchinson. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Honu.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Rosales said.
