Hackers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Drillers
The Silicon Valley Hackers overcame a good performance by Beaumont shortstop Kevin Douglas to knock off Beaumont, 9-7, at Drillers Stadium. Douglas went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Silicon Valley reliever Josh Criss picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. David Frisk took the loss. Juan Contreras recorded his 1st save for Silicon Valley.

Silicon Valley used a timely hit from Jose Calderon to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hackers ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Hackers manager Brad Jones. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."

Silicon Valley, at 95-60, is 8½ games up in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
