The Silicon Valley Hackers met little resistance from the Murraysville Peacocks, beating them, 16-2, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Steve Miller led the way. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for Silicon Valley. Pat Tracy was the winner. He's now 5-2. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ken Evans. The victory gives Silicon Valley a record of 88-59.

David Carter had a big 2-run home run for the Hackers in the bottom of the second inning. With Silicon Valley leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ken Evans and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Hackers on top, 4-0.

Murraysville manager Joseph Kelley called the blowout loss "a real bummer."
