Kelowna Defeats Boise, 6-3

The Kelowna Rockets locked up a win at Basque Block Field, knocking off the Boise Hawks, 6-3. On the mound for Kelowna was right-hander Corey MacIndoe. He played a major role in the triumph. MacIndoe, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Ryan Wride closed it out for Kelowna, earning his 6th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alejandro Valdez? The Kelowna designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rockets on top, 4-0. For the game, Valdez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Corey giving us the start that he did was huge," said Kelowna manager Ch'ak'iso Chaga.
At 74-72, the Rockets claim 5th place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
