Butterflies Win, 2-1, at Hawaii
|
Hawaii pitcher Chris Sweeney gave the Butterflies all they could handle, but in the end, Pennsylvania left Aloha Stadium with a win, 2-1. Sweeney allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 9 innings. David Espinoza earned the win. Chris Sweeney, who led the RCL in strikeouts with 200 in 2063, took the loss for Hawaii. Getting the save was Matt York, his 18th.
Pennsylvania left fielder Bobby Shaw delivered a solo home run in the top of the sixth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
"Runs were tough to come by," said Shaw. "But we scored just enough to win."
Pennsylvania is now 35-65, Hawaii 51-50.
