Pilots Take Down Pharaohs, 9-7
The Jacksonville Pilots needed 10 innings to beat the Cairo Pharaohs, 9-7, at The Pyramid. The win was due in part to shortstop Jesus Tapia, who went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jacksonville reliever Hisham Kontar picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Kelvin Tolmie was tagged with the loss. Carlos Reyes, who is tied for 9th in the TML in holds with 7, nailed down the save.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Tapia delivered big-time for Jacksonville, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Kelvin Tolmie. The game-changing hit put the Pilots on top, 8-7.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Tapia. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."

The 6th-place Pilots hiked their record to 44-43.
